A Not So Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Bank

The fishing job for the lost tubing string not only cost us $100,000, but we LOST THE WELL TO BOOT. Including lost production, total loss $2,000,000.

All of us in the oil patch know this is no Texas tall tale, but one of the most sickening and frustrating realities of completing or servicing an oil or gas well. What has been found after enormous effort, persistence and great financial risk, is gone in a blink of an eye. A routine tubing job turns into catastrophe.

Best Tool has a patented solution to minimize this risk.

Brake

Pictured is one of our patented Tubing Brakes. They come in several forms and can either be screwed directly into the tubing string or snapped onto the outside of the tubing.

How do they work? Very simply and very well. By decreasing the annulus, or open space, between the outside of the tubing and the inside of the casing, the ability of the tubing to fall through the fluid in the casing is greatly reduced, thereby braking the rate of fall. Just like sand through the neck of an hour glass, the going is slow.

So, before you start that next tubing job, don’t you think you’d best find out how we can keep you going to the bank?
